Year 6 Football Tournament - Thursday 6th October
Burton football team were very excited to take part in their first year 6 football tournament. It was only a small tournament but could turn out to be a big step towards county finals.
There were five other teams: St Josephs, Twynham, Christchurch A, Christchurch B and The Priory.
We played five matches and didn't loose a single game,
Our first match was against St Josephs, we won 3-0 with Jack and Aston getting the goals.
Our second match was against Twynham, we won 2-0 with a few excellent saves from Ethan.
In our third match we won 2-0 again but this time the excellent saves came from Elijah.
We then took a break from the matches and played a small sided game based on skill called Futsal. First we played Twynham and drew 0-0, then we played The Priory and won 3-0 with Jack and Finlay scoring.
Our last Futsal game was against St Josephs, we won 2-0 with Elijah and Woody scoring.
Then it was back to the tournament with our game against Christchurch B, we won 3-0 with a header from Aston and two amazing goals from Finlay and Woody!
Our last game was against out toughest opponent of the day, Christchurch A, It was a brilliant game to play, chances everywhere but unfortunately no goals so it ended 0-0.
We were the overall winners.
It was such a great experience for the whole team and we are hopeful to go on the win bigger and better things.
Thank you to Mrs Slater, Mr Watson and Mrs Simmonds for picking the teams and taking us.
