A visit from author, Lexi Rees
Author of action packed adventure stories and activity books for children, Lexi Rees joined us in school this week. She kicked off the day with a whole school presentation sharing her work and answering questions. She then worked with KS2 in the process of story planning – at one stage the children were drawing stories ON their heads. This was to demonstrate the idea that planning is really important and although you may have an idea in your head, you need to craft it carefully. The children were really engaged in these sessions and produced some imaginative story plans - we look forward to reading them.
A visit from author, Emily Lloyd- Gale
Children in Key Stage 1 and Early Years were not to miss out yesterday as the Mighty Maurice author, Emily Lloyd-Gale, joined us in school. Like Lexi, she began the day with a whole school presentation and then spent time reading her books and ‘snail spotting’ with the children. Emily answered questions from our young readers and they loved Maurice! It has been so lovely to see the children so engaged with both authors this week and really demonstrating their love of reading.
