PE

PE VISION

To develop a lifelong healthy attitude to sport and physical activity for the enjoyment it brings, the teamwork it engenders and the values it upholds.

Dear Parents/Carers,

We have been awarded the Platinum Kitemark (the highest award) by the School Games to acknowledge our commitment to the quality of PE throughout our school for the Year 2021-2022. We achieved this, with the support of Mr Moody our SGO (School Games Organiser), by continuing to provide opportunities for our children to take part in intra-school (within our school) competitions and inter-school (between schools) competitions, by attending inclusive events, by offering lots of active clubs, by developing leadership (Sports Leaders) and by providing opportunities for our children to increase their activity levels throughout the school day. We are committed to promoting the School Games values through sport which are: determination, teamwork, self-belief, respect, passion and honesty.

We have had a very successful year competing in the School Games finals in handball, netball and tennis. A huge thank you to all the staff at Burton who have continued to support me to achieve this, especially Mrs Simmonds!

Mrs Slater

Please can you make sure that your child comes into school on their PE day wearing the correct PE kit so they can take part fully in this important part of the school day. The PE kit should consist of a green Burton School T shirt, black shorts, socks and a pair of trainers or plimsolls for inside. The children may wear a dark (black or navy blue) sweatshirt and joggers outside when the weather gets colder. Children should not wear a watch or any jewellery. If your child has pierced ears and cannot take out the earrings then they will be provided tape to cover them with.

Welcome to Burton CofE Primary School
