We celebrated International Mother Language Day this year with a whole school Collective Worship focusing on our names. Our name is the same in any language and we read The Name Jar by Yangsook Choi - a story set in America about a young Korean girl starting out in a new land. The story teaches us to be proud of our names, our language and our culture wherever we come from in the world.
Throughout the week (thanks to our children who speak additional languages at home!), the children had the opportunity to hear some familiar stories in different languages thanks to their fellow students, their parents and even some staff! The children heard Italian, German, Polish and Welsh.
A massive gratzi/ danke/ dziękuję/ diolch to you all!
