Secondary School Headteachers - Please can Year 11 students be encouraged to look at the Post 16 Transport Assistance Policy as this may be useful information as they consider their Post 16 options.

Dear Colleagues,

Dorset are running the annual consultation on the School Admission Arrangements for 2020/2021 with effect from Monday 12^th November 2018 to Friday 21^st December 2018. Details of the consultation will be available to view at https://www.dorsetforyou.gov.uk/education-and-training/education-and-training.aspx?folderIds=5377,43802 from 9am on Monday 12^th November 2018.

Responses must be submitted either in writing to School Admissions Team, Dorset County Council, County Hall, Dorchester, DT1 1XJ or by email to schoolorganisation@dorsetcc.gov.uk by Friday 21^st December 2018. Upon the conclusion of the consultation period all responses will be considered carefully and a report will be presented to the shadow executive prior to the determination deadline on 28^th February 2019.

We ask that schools should make reference to the consultation on their websites. They should also inform their parents about the consultation via newsletter and/or other appropriate social media outlets such as Facebook so they are given an opportunity to comment, if they wish to do so.

The key dates for the consultation are set out below:

Own admission authority schools are reminded that they must carry out their own consultation if they are proposing changes to their admission arrangements for 2020/2021. Consultation must be carried out over a 6 week period between 1^st October 2018 – 31^st January 2019.

Dorset are re-consulting on the Home to School Transport Policy and the Post 16 Transport Policy for 2019/2020 with effect from Monday 3^rd September 2018 to Sunday 30^th September 2018.
