Mr Adrian Ryder
Mrs Georgie Bethune
"I have lived in Burton for the last 36 years and have enjoyed a long association with the school, both personally and professionally. My three children enjoyed considerable success during their attendance at the school and, for myself being a member of the SEN support staff for twenty years.
I currently serve as a Foundation Governor acting as link governor for Literacy. I also serve on both finance and curriculum committees. Recently retired I hope that my background in primary education will make a positive contribution towards the school.
I have been and always will be committed to Burton Primary. It is a very special place and the staff, pupils and entire school community should be incredibly proud of what they are achieving."
Mrs Joyce Colbourne
"I have been involved with Burton CE Primary School for over fourteen years as a
Governor and even longer as a parent and current grandparent of pupils at our
school. Until my recent retirement I was the co-owner of Burton Teddy Bears pre-school playgroup and I am still an active member and supporter of Burton
I became a Governor because I am a firm supporter of our school and as a church of England school, I believe it plays an important part in our community".
Mrs Danielle Jeffries
"I have worked as a teacher for over 20 years and at Burton School for the last 8. As a mother of 4 I have experienced both sides of playground life. I have served as a parent governor when my sons were at primary school and now that they are older I am keen to become involved as a governor once more. At present I teach in Key Stage 1 and have subject leadership roles for Worship and Art.
Outside of the classroom I enjoy all the arts but have a secret passion for dance and musical theatre – as observer not participator! I am a committed Christian and am involved in my local church as a youth leader. As the mother of 3 sons I have learnt to score at cricket, become familiar with the off-side rule and am very well acquainted with the institution of the ‘floor-drobe’!
I hope to bring educational experience, creative thinking and practical common sense to the governing body. It is crucial that the staff and governors communicate effectively for the benefit of all the children in the school. I view it as my role to facilitate this".
Reverend Nigel Lacey
"I am Priest in Charge of St. Luke's Church (as well as St. Michael's Sopley). We moved to Burton in September 2016 and love being involved with the school. I am keen to build up the links between the school and St. Luke's. I have 4 children and 3 grandchildren who love visiting us in Burton. I love music, watching football and riding my motorbike".
