Hello and welcome to Owls!
We are a Year 6 class. I am Mrs Kilgore, the Year 6 teacher. I am supported in class by Mrs Simmonds. 

If you have any questions or need to speak to either of us, please leave a message at the beginning of the school day with the member of staff on the door or do pop in at the end of the school day and we will do our best to help.

SATS 2020

Several parents have enquired about the KS2 SATS. These take place in May from Monday 11th -Thursday 14th May. The tests have to be taken by all children nationally on the same day at the same time, so please ensure your child is in school for the week. Only under very exceptional circumstances, as agreed by the DFE, can the timetable be changed.

We prepare the children in school for these tests, developing their confidence by looking at past and practice papers and we have already used some of these both in class, and in intervention/booster sessions. At the moment, please support your child to ensure they are reading, learning their spellings and completing their MyMaths and Spag.com units.  

Soon I will be informing you of additional booster sessions for all children that will take place before school - this was introduced last year in Year 6 and worked very well.

Later this term the children will begin to complete practice papers at home - but not yet! We need to make sure we have covered the work in class before children are tested.
