Learning at home

If your child needs to spend some time at home isolating, but they are still feeling well enough, please feel free to add any home learning your have completed on Tapestry.

Counting toys, simple addition and subtraction using dried pasta or Lego bricks, going on a shape hunt around the home, looking for and discussing patterns on fabric, using capacity language when playing with water in the bath etc are lovely ways to support your child's learning.

Below are a few PDFs linked to in school learning in EYFS.  Please email the school office if you need any additional support.

  • The whole part part model can be used to support calculations. The whole number is the total, but the parts are how you have split that number e.g. 10 is the whole, 6 is part, 4 is the other part.
  • Subitising is a way of instantly recognising an amount.
  • We will cover 2D and 3D shapes as part of mathematical language; however, there is no expectation for the children to instantly recall them.
