Welcome to a new school year down in the Rabbit Warren!
Your teacher is Mrs Denslow and she is ably assisted by Mrs McCarthy (HLTA) and Mrs Dexter (LSA).
You have all come back raring to go which is great to see.
Our topic this term is Transport so we will be flying, sailing, chugging, riding our way through a whole variety of activities.
Our exciting trip (Wednesday 27th September) will see us utilising as many methods of transport as possible. You'll need to wear lots of layers that day and trainers will be a must..it can get slippery on deck...
Day-to-day information about Rabbits Class.
For Games (Monday), when the weather is warm, you need to wear black shorts and the green school PE tee-shirt and a pair of trainers. As it gets colder you can wear tracksuit trousers and gloves. All of your kit should be named. If you wear earrings, you also need to wear tape to cover them or be able to remove them yourself. If you cannot do this, it might be wise not to wear them on Mondays. Thank you for your cooperation with this matter.
You will need you indoor PE kit on Fridays. The green tee-shirt and black shorts should be worn.
You need to read to an adult at home at least 3 times a week. Each read is worth 2 team points for your house. Reading records will be collected in and checked on a Monday...if you haven't read at home, you will need to stay in at playtime and read to one of us. As you are Year 4 now, we expect you to fill in your diary as to what you have read, what you enjoyed, what happened etc. and then ask an adult to sign it for you.
Like last term, we will be issuing you with the POWer home learning challenge. You will need to earn 5 POWer points (in total from any of the activities) from the tasks given which link directly to our Transport topic. (Please see the link on the Year 3/4 page). This homework will be due in on Monday 16th October.
We will still be making regular use of the RM easimaths and j2e.com programs. Links are on the Year 3/4 page. Please complete these reguallry not just when we ask you to!
We will still occasionally (usually fortnightly) send home a traditional spelling list for you to learn. Why not ask someone at home to help you -it'll be more fun and you'll be more successful.
This term we have the exciting opportunity to be learning the clarinet - please read the attached letter for more details. Remember that clarinets need to be in school on a Wednesday, ready for Thursday's lesson.
To your Mums & Dads...If you have any concerns or questions, please let us know (sooner, rather than later!) and we will be more than happy to help. We are usually around the classroom door at the end of the day, so please feel free to approach us and we'll be happy help.
